A while back Marie suggested I add posts to cover trips that happened after I stopped blogging in 2011 but before I started again in 2015.  I liked her idea and am finally getting around to making it happen.  These retroactive posts will be light on narrative and heavy on photos.

First up:  Hawaii.  In late 2011 – thanks to the generosity of a college buddy who runs a travel company – I spent a week on a small cruise ship that toured all the islands.  Off the coast of the Big Island we went night-snorkeling with manta rays, one of my all-time favorite wildlife experiences.  And when the cruise ended Marie met me for a great week in Kauai.
